KeymasterHi rdhnvegas!
As a rule, I travel with over-the-counter medication, and any time I’ve left and returned to Costa Rica, I’ve never had a problem entering the country with them. I’ve also never heard of a traveler encountering any difficulty entering the country with over-the-counter meds.
It can be tempting to remove the medication from its original packaging to save space while packing, but I’d advise against doing that, just in case customs/immigration happens to inquire about the meds. I doubt they will, but if they do, it will probably help that the medication is in its original packaging.
For prescription medication (for any other travelers reading this who plan to travel with prescription meds), it isn’t required but a good idea to also bring along a doctor’s note.
