It’s certainly possible to make a day trip to Monteverde from Herradura. It’s about a 2.5-hour one-way drive, though, so that means you’ll be on the road for a minimum of 5 hours. While you’re in Monteverde and at the Sky Adventures Monteverde Park, I’d recommend touring the on-site Sky Walk hanging bridges, to make the most of your time. Depending on how early in the morning you leave Herradura and how late you want to stay in Monteverde, you could also visit other Monteverde-area attractions; there could be time to participate in a coffee tour at a Monteverde coffee farm, tour the Monteverde orchid garden, or visit the Monteverde hummingbird garden. (Each of these three experiences takes place in the Monteverde area but not at the Sky Adventures Monteverde Park.) It gets dark around 6pm, so if you’d rather not drive back to Herradura in the dark, you’ll need to plan to depart Monteverde no later than 3:30pm.
