Great question! For quick reference, see this link: https://www.ict.go.cr/es/documentos-institucionales/material-de-apoyo-coronavirus/pruebas-covid-para-usa/1898-laboratories-authorized-in-costa-rica-for-test-sars-cov-2/file.html – it provides a list of labs that are authorized to perform Covid testing in Costa Rica. Labs in San Jose are presented on pages 7-12. Stick to those that are highlighted in orange, as they’re the ones that can perform PCR testing in addition to antibody testing.
Unfortunately, I can’t confirm which labs can guarantee same-day results, but the phone numbers of each lab are provided in the document linked to above, so you’re welcome to call those that are located nearest to you to find out their current processing time.
