KeymasterHello Bamboo21!
How exciting! It’s great to hear that you’ve taken on such an ambitious trip, especially since it’s outside of your comfort zone. I think your family will thoroughly enjoy it! 🙂
So far, your itinerary looks great. It’s most common to arrange the destinations you plan to visit in the order that you have, starting on the Caribbean Coast and connecting that trip with time spent in La Fortuna and then Monteverde. From Monteverde, I’d recommend heading to a destination on the northern Pacific coast. Alternatively, you can visit Manuel Antonio as you mention, but you’re right, it’s more likely that you’ll experience rain over there than on the northern pacific coast. (The Guanacaste/northern Pacific region is typically the driest region of Costa Rica, and although there’s potential for rain at every destination in Costa Rica and at any time of the year, there’s less potential for a lot of it over on the northern Pacific coast.) As for which destination you should pick on the northern Pacific coast, for help with this, I’d recommend using our free Destination Tool: https://www.diycostarica.com/costa-rica-destination-tool/
When using the tool, be sure to select “Guanacaste/Northern Pacific” in the first grey box as that will limit the recommendations you receive to that particular region of the country. From there, you can select other criteria that interest you, and then visit the results page. The results page will inform you of the best destination(s) to visit on the northern Pacific coast, which you can easily slot into the last 4 days of your trip. 🙂
